MPQC hold a reciprocity agreement with CPCS, therefore Operators can transfer their cards to either CPCS or MPQC. Only cards that have been produced under the MPQC organisation can be transferred through the reciprocity agreement. CPCS will not recognise any other cards.

• A copy of the front and back of your Blue CPCS Competent Operator Card (minimum of 6 months remaining)
• A copy of the front and back of your Plant related VQ
• A copy of the front and back of your current MPQC/SPA Contractor Safety Passport which will be issued following attendance on the MPQC/SPA Contractor Safety Passport Course.
• Cheque or postal order made payable to MPQC. Credit/Debit card payments can be made prior to submitting your application by phoning 0115 972 6121.

The MPQC Plant Operator Competency Scheme is managed by MP Awards on behalf of the Sector. The Scheme, which has been established since 1982, has a strong and well recognised brand that is valued across the Sector.
MPQC is responsible for providing the overall standards to be applied to the delivery and certification of the Scheme.

What does the MPQC Plant Operator Competency Scheme cover?

The MPQC Plant Operator Competency Scheme covers training, skills, knowledge, qualifications, competence and on-going CPD.The Scheme is operated on the following:

• Common standards and checklists
• Independently managed
• Open access for all from within the Sector
• Rigorous quality assurance of Approved Training Providers, Assessors and systems and processes

Plant types covered by the Plant Operator Competency Scheme

The MPQC Plant Operator Competency Scheme covers a wide range of mobile plant together with some fixed plant items.

Each assessment consists of several assessment factors. Any factor not assessed during the assessment will show on the candidate’s competency card as Factors Not Assessed. It is the employer’s responsibility to ensure the candidate has been assessed on all factors required for their operation. On achievement of assessment the candidate will gain a Red or Blue competency card depending if the candidate holds the relevant qualification.
